In 1990 I was working for a large banking organisation based in Sheffield. I was travelling around the country and started to suffer from panic attacks and nervous exhaustion.
I thought a transfer back into a job based in the offices would remove the stress how wrong I was. The quicker I worked, the more my in tray seemed to fill up.
I was seeing my GP at the time, but he had limited knowledge and time to help me. I used a psycho-analyst and hypnotherapist to help me recover.
What is a panic attack? Going back to when man lived in caves, he had to be able to run away from danger. However with the massive amounts of data we are processing nowadays with the complexity of life, this survival system is being set off when there is no real danger.
I was having cold and hot sweats at night and couldn't sleep. I could actually feel the adrenalin pumping through my body. My head felt as though a rusty nail was being pushed into the centre of it.
From being 18 to 28, I had suffered from boils around the nose area of my face, these disappeared within months of mecompleting the treatment. My excessive drinking reduced from double the government recommendations within twelve months, to normal levels.
I started to gain back control of my life and a few years later got interested in the positive thinking field.
I did my NLP Practitioner Training in Manchester with Optimum Performance and Master Practitioner training in Sheffield with Hexagon Training.
I have also done lots of other training with different organisations across the country. Four years ago I travelled across to the USA to further my training, in a technique called the Sedona method.
I am now 43 years old. I had a four year apprenticeship at British Steel, where I trained in Electronics. A further fifteen years at (Midland Bank) H.S.B.C. spent in their Telecommunications department.
