Can Hypnotherapy reduce excessive drinking?
Dear All
About 20 years ago I was drinking excessively, probably double the governments guidelines. I wasn’t seeking help for my drinking, because at the time I didn’t realise the damage it could be doing to me. My drinking was only social at night and spread over four nights. I had been working around the country for a large banking organisation, I probably visited over 500 branches in a year. On paper the job seemed very interesting, the company provided me with a nice car, I had an expenses account and stayed in all the best hotels. The problem was I couldn’t get a balance between my home and work life. I first started experiencing panic attacks one night, after I had been working in the flag ship branch on Poultry and Princes St. There had been a problem with the installation of the new Telecom services and I didn’t leave the branch until 12 that night, after setting off from Sheffield at 5:30am. As I was walking past the Tower of London back to the Tower Thistle hotel, my first panic attack hit me and this was only the first week of my new job.
After a year of working around the country I told the management about my distress and within a few days they had arranged for me to have an office based job back in Sheffield. I thought all my problems would be over, but I was still suffering from panic attacks, excessive anxiety. The manager I was now working for was a technical person and lacked the experience to manage people. I felt even worse than I had while I had been working around the country.
Eventually I decided to see a Psycho-analyst and then a Hypnotherapist. As I learnt to relax, my panic attacks started to reduce. I was shocked one day, the panic attack I thought I was going to have never materialised. In the end I stopped being concerned abut panic attacks and my anxiety and stress levels reduced. At this moment in time I had been having regular blood pressure checks and my blood pressure reduced also.
As I relaxed the repressed feelings that were causing me to have panic attacks, started to surface and I faced these fears and stored them back in my subconscious mind having learned from them. The positive side effect of all of this was, my drinking over the three month period I was seeing the Hypnotherapist, reduced to safe healthy levels of around 20 units a week. Boils I had had on my nose since I was 18 also disappeared. Over the last 20 years my drinking has reduced until I have become tea total, but that has been gradual. I no longer need alcohol to feel good and am quite happy socialising with an alternative drink.
Eventually I became interested in the positive thinking field and retrained as a Master Practitioner of Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP). The bedrock of my training was Hypnotherapy. I spent a year across in Manchester with Optimum Performance and a further year back in Sheffield with Hexagon training. I also carried out a lot of other training courses, even travelling to Sedona in the west of the USA.
I left the banking organisation I was working for and started my NLP & Hypnotherapy business in 2001.
I offer you a free 15 minute session, to ensure that we can work together as a team. I produce a tailor made Hypnotherapy CD each time you come to see me, which you require to use daily, to learn to relax properly. There are a number of guided visualisations during the session and I teach you to release tension from your body and relax properly. While you are in a very relaxed state of mind I suggest a number of positive suggestions, around the goal of you becoming a “Moderate drinker”. Your subconscious mind absorbs suggestions more readily when you are in a relaxed state of mind. Hypnotherapy isn’t a quick fix solution, because you will need to find time daily to listen to the tailor made CD I produce for you. As you learn to relax correctly, this feeling carries over to the remainder of your day. Anything that you have repressed that maybe causing you to drink heavily, will start to rise up out of your subconscious mind, you will face these emotions that you couldn’t deal with in your childhood and restore the memories in a more harmonious way in your subconscious mind.
It could take me up to five sessions, to help you with heavy excessive drinking, however miracles could occur in one session if you are willing to use the tailor made Hypnotherapy CD I produce you, daily for the next month or so. Each time you listen to the recording, the positive suggestions sink deeper into your subconscious mind and help you to change your beliefs and behaviour and become a “Moderate drinker”.
If you cann’t wait to see me, you can download this Hypnotherapy recording for £10 (approx $15), which includes free email support, to get the best out of the recording. Click on the button to purchase and a download link will then be sent to you. However you will need to find time daily to listen to this Hypnotherapy recording over the next month or so, to get the best results out of it.
