Hi Everybody
Back onto the subject of hypnotherapy.
I once had a customer come to see me, because he was having a false knee joint, using a local anesthetic. He didn’t fancy having the surgery while he was fully conscious and wondered if I could help.
I found out a little bit more about the process he was going through, I then relaxed him very deeply and suggested a positive outcome. I also suggested that time would pass very quickly for him while he was being operated on. I produce a tailor made CD each time people come to see me, which I gave him to take away and suggested that he used it on a daily basis, until after the operation.
A week later I contacted him to see how he was going on and found out from his wife that he had already had the operation and he had been fine. He has a 2nd knee joint to be replaced in the future, so the CD I have already produced can be re used, a week before his next operation. He will already be more confident about the outcome, following his previous operation.
I once watched this television program showing somebody having their teeth extracted using hypnotherapy and then posts drilled into their bone in their gums to enable false teeth to be fitted. They were monitored on a bio feedback machine to show how relaxed they were and their heart rate stayed very low. The technique was for quite a few hours and I assume that they didn’t suffer any pain.
Before modern drugs, it was quite common for people to have teeth out, while being in a hypnotic state. I can imagine people and dentists find it more convenient to use a local anesthetic, rather than taking the time to hypnotize somebody, for pain control.
James Esdaille (1808-1859) carried out many operations in India for six years, with people under the influence of hypnotherapy. There was less scrutiny, than if the operations had been in London. He found out that the success rate and recovery rate after, was much greater than other surgeons were experiencing. However a cheap and effective drug came on the market and the rest is history.
Personally I prefer a local anesthetic. I had my first tooth out for 30 years last year and because in the past I had been put to sleep by gas or using a needle, I felt a little concerned about it. However I couldn’t believe how quick and easy it was to extract the tooth.
